Week 32

Trust is a rare commodity. I have met many people who have lost the ability to trust others. I cannot say I do not understand why. The Bible says that the heart is wicked. I believe it.

This year marked the 28th Anniversary of my parent’s horrible accident. My parents rarely remember the date. I will never forget. The young man who hit my parents was charged and plead guilty and he served 20 years. During those years, the state prosecutor’s office would call when he was up for parole. Each time, my family would pray over the situation. He was denied parole two times. The last time they called, my dad announced that it was time to trust God and not stand in the way of his freedom. I disagreed with my dad. However, I trust his judgment. To my knowledge, the young man is free today. However, during his incarceration, he lost his mother and a daughter.

His actions cost him not only his freedom but also his family. My dad taught me that people do deserve second chances. I am hoping this man understands the chance that God has given him. My daddy taught me that God knows all. I read it in His word that we are to trust Him. I have come to place all my trust in God. I know He loves me and will protect me. Lesson learned.

God’s Reminder

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV
